Resume Bullet Improver

What It Does

• Accepts one or more current resume bullet points.
• Improves wording based on role type, seniority, and focus area.
• Returns stronger bullets, ATS keywords, and interview talking points.
• Explains what changed through a short notes section.
• Shows the final output inside a modal popup for easy copying.

Setup

1. Open functions/config.local.php.
2. Add your OpenAI API key to openai_api_key.
3. Keep or change the default model in openai_model.
4. Optional: add adsense_client and adsense_sidebar_slot to activate the right sidebar ad area.
5. Make sure PHP curl is available on the server.
6. Load /ResumeBulletImprover/ in your browser through MAMP.

How To Use

1. Paste your current resume bullets.
2. Select the target role, seniority level, and improvement focus.
3. Add optional job target details or extra context.
4. Click Improve Bullets.
5. Review and copy the upgraded bullets from the popup modal.

Folder Structure

Security Notes

• The functions and storage folders are protected with .htaccess.
• Requests use a CSRF token.
• A simple file-based rate limit reduces abuse without a database.

Troubleshooting

• If generation fails, check functions/config.local.php for the API key.
• If the API returns an error, inspect the generated log file under storage/logs.
• If the popup does not open, make sure JavaScript is enabled.
• If folder protection does not work, make sure Apache allows .htaccess overrides.
