AI Caption Generator

This project turns a rough content brief into cleaner social captions for multiple platforms without using a database.

What it does

• Generates platform-aware captions for Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Returns a primary caption, a shorter version, and an alternative variation.
• Includes a reusable hook line and a small hashtag set.
• Adds short notes explaining why the caption direction works.

How to use it

• Load /AiCaptionGenerator/ in your browser through MAMP.
• Paste your content brief into the main textarea.
• Select the target platform, tone, and format.
• Optionally add CTA, audience, and keywords.
• Click Generate Caption.
• Review the modal output and copy the version you want.

OpenAI setup

• Open functions/config.local.php.
• Add your API key to openai_api_key.
• Optionally change openai_model.
• You can also provide OPENAI_API_KEY from the server environment.

AdSense setup

• Open functions/config.local.php.
• Set adsense_client to your publisher ID.
• Set adsense_sidebar_slot to your sidebar slot ID.
• If those values stay empty, the app shows a placeholder ad panel instead.

Project structure

• index.php: main page and result modal.
• css/style.css: interface styling.
• js/app.js: frontend behavior, submit flow, and copy buttons.
• functions/api.php: server-side endpoint.
• functions/lib.php: validation, prompt assembly, OpenAI request, and helpers.
• storage/: logs and rate-limit storage.

Notes

• The tool is designed for English output.
• It uses file-based rate limiting and does not require MySQL.
• The results improve when the brief clearly explains the content angle and audience.
